Unlike traditional e-commerce payments, marketplace transactions often involve multiple participants, payment providers, and regulatory requirements. In Givluv, a single purchase could include the customer, merchant, charity, and platform, making the payment journey significantly more complex. While the payment infrastructure supported these scenarios, the experience introduced unnecessary friction, making it difficult for users to understand payment responsibilities, transaction progress, and where their money was going. Research identified four key challenges.
